Looking through the Native American Medicine Cards, the hummingbird stands for joy.  These lovely creatures certainly bring me a lot of joy and so I've started painting them on my banjo and banjo/ukulelee heads.  It's a lovely sounding instrument with nylon strings and will bring you a lot of joy.
